Tethys Bioscience, Inc. Selects RemedyMD Enterprise Registry Solutions to Further Expand Adoption of PreDx™ Diabetes Risk

Addition of RemedyMD’s world-class registry technology further confirms the two organizations as leaders in their fields

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- RemedyMD®, Inc. – "Tethys is executing an aggressive program to drive market uptake of the PreDx Diabetes Risk Score for the identification of patients at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes," explains Mickey S. Urdea, PhD, chairman and chief executive officer of Tethys. "Since early 2009, more than 15,000 PreDx tests have been ordered in the U.S. by physicians for patients they suspect to be at risk for the disease. We plan to continue to build market share through our regional sales force growth, partnerships and strategic alliances."

One such partner chosen to do this is Salt Lake City-based RemedyMD, the leading provider of next-generation registries for life science. RemedyMD enables researchers, scientists, and clinicians to collect, aggregate, harmonize, and analyze data from disparate data sources and types in order to see a 360º view of each patient or research subject.

PreDx DRS was developed using a unique approach to quantifying biomarkers suspected of playing roles in diabetes development. Tethys technology enabled evaluation of many biomarkers utilizing small amounts of blood from select and well-characterized large study cohorts with known diabetes outcomes. The company then determined the combination of these biomarkers with an algorithm that best identified an individual's risk of developing type 2 diabetes within five years. RemedyMD’s registry solutions will further help Tethys to manage these vast amounts of data and expand its research.

The diabetes registry RemedyMD is providing includes the Mosaic™ data repository, OntologyManager™ for harmonizing data, and QueryBuilder™ for easy-to-create, robust reports.

“Tethys chose RemedyMD because their registry tools are easy to use, they integrate easily with EMRs, and they have broad experience in the diabetes space,” adds Jay Kerzner, Senior Director of Tethys.

“Diabetes research represents the perfect usage of our meta-registry technology. It requires the aggregation and harmonization of data from many sources, each of which is looking at a different aspect of the problem,” says Jim Hyde, President and Chief Operating Officer of RemedyMD. “Since diabetes is linked to so many other health problems it is essential to be able to look at patterns across registries.”

RemedyMD plans to announce additional registries for other diseases in the coming weeks and is hosting seven upcoming free webinars showcasing its technology. Registration information can be found at http://www.remedymd.com/RemedyMD-Live-Webinars.php.
