Symphony Corp. To Present Session on ACOs at AHIP's 2012 Medicare and Medicaid Conferences in Washington, D.C.

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Symphony Corp., a global healthcare technology solutions provider, has announced that the company will be presenting a session on quality care and costs savings for Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) at America's Health Insurance Plans' (AHIP's) Medicare and Medicaid Conferences in Washington, D.C. from September 9 to 13. The Medicare Conference, which will be hosted from September 9 to 11, and the Medicaid Conference, which will be hosted on September 12 and 13, will both be hosted at Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., and will cover changes, challenges and opportunities facing health plans participating in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Symphony's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ron Parton, and Symphony's Senior Consultant, Andrew Dahl, will present the session on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 7:15 am at Capital Hilton Hotel, which will provide a better understanding of some of the basics of care redesign in support of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and how to identify high risk cases, complex case management, care coordination and the supporting resources, tools and infrastructure, including population health information technology.

"Quality care and costs savings for ACOs has been a major topic of conversation in the industry," said Parton. "As of late, there has been multiple studies and CMS demonstration projects that have resulted in cost savings for ACOs. At Symphony, we've allocated significant resources into this, and have been successful identifying cost saving opportunities for ACOs. With some of the sharpest minds and key decision makers in the industry in attendance, the AHIP Medicare and Medicaid Conferences are ideal forums for us to share our insights and examine the success of these interventions and initiatives, and to highlight the infrastructure and building blocks necessary for reproducing this work in other systems."
