Survey Sampling International Names Chris DeAngelis to Head New SSI Health

New SSI Health Delivers Science-Based Sample across Key Healthcare Audiences—Patients, Caregivers, Physicians and Allied Health Professionals

SHELTON, Conn., March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Survey Sampling International (SSI)—the leading global provider of online and offline sampling solutions—has appointed Chris DeAngelis to head its new SSI Health business, created to support the unique sampling requirements of health-related market research projects.  Bringing SSI's 34-year legacy of sampling science to health-focused industries, SSI Health provides access to all major healthcare audiences—patients, caregivers, physicians and allied health professionals, including nurses/nurse practitioners, pharmacists, chiropractors and dentists.  Its reach extends across a range of therapeutic categories, including metabolic syndrome, central nervous system and mental health disorders, respiratory ailments and lifestyle treatments.

"Recognizing the unique challenges healthcare researchers face, SSI has created a dedicated team, focused on creating and delivering sample for health-related projects," says Mr. DeAngelis.  "As the treatment decision process becomes more complex and therapies become more specific, health-focused researchers must meet two conflicting goals—achieving greater reach to more audiences while supporting more precise targeting of lower-incidence populations.  With the advent of SSI Dynamix™—our game-changing dynamic sampling platform—SSI is uniquely able to fulfill both key requirements.

"By linking to multiple sources—including our global online panels, as well as social media, affiliate partnerships, online communities and more—SSI can access anyone who wants to share opinions and experiences, even those who would never join a panel.  Plus, because we dynamically profile in real time— using multiple sets of refinement questions—we can recruit very specific segments to meet even the tightest parameters."

In addition to its online access, SSI Health offers the full spectrum of offline modes, including landline phone, mobile/wireless and Address-Based Sampling.  It also provides mixed access solutions, combining multiple modes.  By offering a range of data collection approaches, SSI ensures healthcare researchers can reach any audiences they need—even populations with rare conditions, segments not well covered by the Internet and patients in cell-only households.

Chris DeAngelis Brings 25 Year of Sampling Experience to His New Role

Mr. DeAngelis brings 25 years of sampling expertise to his new role.  He first joined SSI in 1986 as an Account Executive and quickly moved up the ranks, rising to Senior Account Executive in 1991, National Sales Manager in 1997 and Vice President, Sales, North America in 2003.

Mr. DeAngelis is a member of the MRA, AAPOR, PMRG and PBIRG.  He holds a BA in Economics from Bates College and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Bridgeport.  He also spent a year studying Economics in the UK.

"Chris acts as a true partner to his customers, supporting them in creating the most effective sampling and survey designs," says Mark Hardy, SSI's Managing Director, Americas.  "His extensive experience across multiple industries, including healthcare, coupled with his deep understanding of sampling science make him the ideal candidate to lead SSI Health.  Chris brings the knowledge, experience and passion for methodological excellence to deliver optimal sampling solutions for health-related projects."
