While they're afraid that it might be used to cut their reimbursement, value-based purchasing approaches should work, according to a group of hospital leaders convened by the Senate Finance Committee. On hospital head who spoke at a roundtable meeting, Cedars-Sinai Health System president and CEO Thomas Priselac, said that value-based purchasing can actually offer "great advantages" to the industry.
