Physician-rating sites have increasingly been in the news of late. Most recently, the blogosphere buzzed when the Canadian Medical Protective Association threatened a rating site with legal action if it didn't remove anonymous comments it deemed "clearly defamatory." The site refused, and remains online. Not only is it likely to stay online, expect to see more sites emerge, one blogger says, given the "pent up demand" among consumers to share information about their doctors. Doctors need to accept these kinds of consumer-generated media are here to stay, and find ways to participate in the process, he suggests. Blog
