The latest member of the Siemens ultrasound product family, the ACUSON S2000(TM) ultrasound system, provides excellent gynecologic and fetal imaging for both 2D and 3D/4D acquisition, as well as 3D Dynamic TCE tissue contrast enhancement technology -- an industry exclusive -- for enhanced anatomic border and contrast resolution. In addition, the ACUSON S2000 features a comprehensive set of applications in the arena of volume imaging:

In addition, the ACUSON S2000 features syngo Auto OB measurements that use sophisticated pattern recognition technology in all automatic biometric measurements. Especially developed to enhance the workflow in obstetrics, the software delivers increased measurement accuracy and consistency.

Siemens will also showcase its smallest and the world's first pocket ultrasound system: the ACUSON P10(TM). A 2008 recipient of Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA), the ACUSON P10 weighs in at only 1.6 pounds and is small enough to fit in a lab coat pocket. It is intended for use in routine and urgent care settings, particularly in obstetrics, emergency care and cardiology. In labor and delivery, the ACUSON P10 system gives physicians and midwives a quick overview of fetal positioning, amniotic fluid volume, placental location, abnormalities and miscarriage.

"The system is quickly becoming the assessment tool of choice for clinicians around the world," said Klaus Hambuechen, chief executive officer, Ultrasound, Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. "Instead of having to get the patient to the technology, the ACUSON P10 system brings the technology to the patient. This makes additional information available on a patient's condition. In addition, it can save critical minutes, especially when the patient is in distress."
