At the request of a federal mediator, Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West (SEIU-UHW) and HCA Los Robles Medical Center, West Hills Medical Center, Riverside Medical Center, San Jose Regional Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital have agreed to meet and resume bargaining on December 3, 2010.

Last week, the union had notified all five hospitals that union healthcare workers intended to hold a one-day work stoppage on that day. The SEIU-UHW bargaining committee and the hospitals have agreed to a proposal by the federal mediator to use this Friday to continue negotiations with the involvement of a federal mediator.
