Samplify Systems Announces Availability of Samplify for Windows Release 2.6, and Samplify for Windows Embedded Edition, Transfor

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Samplify Systems, Inc., a real-time compression technology company, today announced the availability of Samplify for Windows Release 2.6 and Samplify for Windows, Embedded Edition. The Embedded Edition provides the same compression and decompression engine as the proven Samplify for Windows application, but supporting end user application development through an applications programming interface (API).

"Many of our customers in the defense and medical imaging markets want to maximize the benefits of compression on their signal chain by compressing their signals in FPGA and preserving them in the compressed domain until just prior to signal processing in software," said Al Wegener, Samplify founder and CTO. "With Samplify for Windows, Embedded Edition, we can now give our customers the ability to integrate signal decompression into their signal analysis software. Release 2.6 of Samplify for Windows provides a user-friendly GUI around the Prism software compression engine with numerous enhancements to enable system architects to test its various compression modes on their own signals and be guaranteed that they will achieve the exact same results in hardware with Samplify for FPGA, or in the standalone Embedded Edition software engine."

"For the RF spectrum analyzer recording systems we develop, Samplify has the only compression technology which can operate at over 100 megasamples per second in an FPGA to expand our systems' storage capacity," said Todd Smith, CEO of Reston, VA-based X-COM Systems. "And with Samplify for Windows, Embedded Edition integrated into our RF signal analysis software, WaveCAFE(TM), we can now enable our customers to analyze, filter, and export their captured data directly from compressed form."

RF spectrum recorders are used in intelligence gathering applications to capture signals of interest off the air for later analysis. As the range of frequencies and bandwidths increase, the storage requirements increase exponentially, stressing both the throughput and capacity of hard drive arrays or solid state memory. Samplify's Prism(TM) signal compression technology losslessly compresses captured signal data in real-time, at up to gigasample per second rates alleviating these bottlenecks.

Samplify for Windows, Embedded Edition is available immediately from Samplify. Pricing starts at $25,000 for a quad-core CPU. Samplify for Windows, Embedded Edition is complementary to OEMs who integrate Samplify for FPGA into their systems. Samplify for Windows Release 2.6 is available for download at http://www.samplify.com/windows.php. Samplify for Windows may be evaluated for free for the first 30 days, after which it may be purchased for $995.
