The physician writes the script, it gets scanned and transmitted to us. Our pharmacists review it along with the patient profiles to ensure against allergies and drug conflicts. Once screened, they approve it which releases the drug to an automated cabinet within the hospital for the nurse to retrieve for that patient only,” explained Nickleson.
