Resurrection Health Care Achieves 94% Field Data Extraction with Brainware Distiller for Invoices

Provider Reduces Paper-Based Document Processing by 77%, Eliminates Long-Term Paper Storage

ASHBURN, Va., Dec. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Brainware, Inc. is proud to report that Resurrection Health Care, which recently completed a merger with Provena Health to become the largest Catholic health care system in Illinois, has successfully implemented Brainware Distiller on Microsoft SQL Server for the efficient processing of accounts payable documents into a McKesson ERP.  The provider is achieving field extraction rates of 94% on PO-based invoices, and has reduced paper-based processing from 87% to 10% in 2011.  Resurrection selected Distiller following a rigorous evaluation that included competitive offerings from Kofax and EMC Captiva.

Banwart noted that Brainware's offering for enterprise search, Brainware Globalbrain, was helping his department to quickly retrieve previously scanned documents and review all physician payments.  By creating a scalable, searchable archive for structured and unstructured data, Resurrection is able to convert its documents into electronic images, negating the need to physically store seven years' worth of paper files.
