Radisphere holds itself accountable as a practice to the performance of its radiologists in providing the highest quality in radiologic care to its clients. As an extension of its accountable care model, Radishere will publish a quarterly performance scorecard that measures its results in a side-by-side comparison to national average standards. These standards include Turnaround Time, Critical Findings Compliance, Call Coverage, Voice Recognition, Peer Review, and Subspecialty Expertise.

“Radiology is one of the most important clinical functions in any hospital. As such, there must be clear and transparent methods to measure and report performance metrics,” said Frank Seidelmann, D.O., Radisphere’s Chief Medical Officer. “This is one example of how we hold our radiologists accountable to quality based on accuracy, productivity and medical staff satisfaction.”

A recommended that “health care delivery organizations, clinicians, and payers should increase the availability of information on the quality, prices and cost, and outcomes of care to help inform care decisions and guide improvement efforts.” This included a strategy that “professional specialty societies should encourage transparency on the quality, value, and outcomes of the care provided by their members.”* Radisphere’s accountable care approach to radiology services and its standards-based delivery model encourage performance reporting to identify opportunities for service-level improvements – ultimately leading to higher quality radiology and eliminating medical staff complaints.
