ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) today announced that Brenda Bacon, vice chairman of the ALFA Board of Directors and president and CEO of Mt. Laurel, NJ-based Brandywine Senior Living will represent ALFA and its members in a U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging roundtable titled, Assisted Living at the Dawn of America’s ‘Age Wave’: What Have States Achieved and How is the Federal Role Evolving?” on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building.

“Assisted living is in the spotlight now because consumers find it one of the most appealing senior care options available,” said Richard P. Grimes, president and CEO of the Assisted Living Federation of America. “Thanks to growing demand for assisted living, all 50 states have regulatory frameworks in place to encourage diverse assisted living options that advance both quality care and quality of life for seniors. ALFA looks forward to sharing assisted living’s 30-year success story and continuing to work with consumers, providers and state regulators to write its next chapter.”
