Prime-A-Pump Selected by Yale New Haven Health System to Build and Maintain Drug Libraries

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Zynx Health Device Network, an innovator of clinical decision support for medical devices, today announced that Yale New Haven Health System (Connecticut), including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, and Greenwich Hospital, has selected Prime-A-Pump – a unique Web-based knowledge resource and collaboration tool for building and maintaining smart-pump drug libraries – to help improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of patient care.

Prime-A-Pump provides guidance to healthcare professionals in configuring the safety limits within their pump drug library software, which can help prevent dangerous medication administration errors. Hospitals can review Prime-A-Pump’s continually updated clinical evidence and use its features to customize their drug library recommendations, discuss issues with multidisciplinary team members, vote on recommendations, maintain an unlimited number of drug library versions, and keep a detailed history of their library changes, all within their own secure online environment. Drug libraries can be customized by a single hospital and/or shared across multiple hospitals within a healthcare system.

“Yale New Haven Health System hospitals have received numerous awards for the excellence of their care, and we look forward to working closely with this distinguished healthcare system,” says Nancy Greengold, MD, president of Zynx Health Device Network. “We are pleased that the organization has chosen Prime-A-Pump to support its goal of enhancing patient safety with clinical decision support.”

Developed by clinicians for clinicians, Prime-A-Pump uses an evidence- and experience-based methodology to provide practical guidance for configuring the values within smart pump drug libraries. This first-of-its-kind collaboration tool has been designed to save hospital personnel tremendous amounts of time in researching and updating their drug libraries as well as in communicating and building consensus with colleagues.
