Company founder rejoins Pri-Med as CEO to deliver team based, medical education
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pri-Med, the leading provider of professional medical education solutions to a community of over 248,000 primary care physicians, today announced that its brand and U.S. based assets have been acquired by Diversified Business Communications, the producer of worldwide trade and consumer events, conferences, publications and eMedia. Pri-Med founder John Mooney will rejoin the company as CEO along with his former management team of Lynn Long, COO, and Dix Wheelock, SVP of Sales. Under new ownership, Pri-Med will focus on incorporating team-based care and patient-centricity education into healthcare delivery.
“Medical knowledge is global but the delivery of health care is still local,” said Pri-Med CEO John Mooney. “Our association with Diversified Business Communications expands Pri-Med’s vision of a more coordinated, team-based health care system essential to providing physician attendees with the best possible conference experience that improves patient outcomes. It is our goal to improve the education and communication between and among all healthcare stakeholders one market at a time in the United States and around the world.”
Pri-Med will further the strategic vision of a more inclusive, collaborative and team-based approach to medical learning across multiple specialties. As part of this collaborative effort, Pri‐Med will explore management contract relationships with healthcare associations and societies to provide content at a regional level to specialists, primary care clinicians and, ultimately, patients.
“Quality health care translates to connecting, educating and strengthening access to the best minds in medicine,” said Bob Macgregor, managing director of Diversified Business Communications Canada. “We are investing in the future of Pri-Med to build upon what we believe is an ideal platform for the next generation of medical education.”
Marissa Seligman joins the management team as Compliance Officer and Chief of Clinical & Regulatory Affairs. Steve Varraso also joins as VP of Operations. Pri-Med will operate as a division of Diversified and continue to be based in the Boston area.
