PatientPoint Further Strengthens Leadership Team with New Executive Appointments

As PatientPoint broadens focus from provider groups to include health plans and pharmacy benefit managers, new team members bring in-depth healthcare, technology, operations experience

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PatientPoint™, a provider of self-service and revenue cycle management applications, today announced the appointment of Aman Bhasin, Catherine Mecker, Steven Nichols, Richard Torres and Harold Van Horn to its executive team.

Bhasin joins PatientPoint as senior vice president, technology services. He brings nearly 20 years of experience from the healthcare, telecom and financial industries. Most recently, Bhasin was CIO at Preferred Health Partners, one of New York’s largest multi-specialty practices, where he led the group to use technologies that enable and improve quality of healthcare, while also streamlining the revenue cycle. He oversaw a variety of IT initiatives during his tenure, including the creation of bi-directional interfaces to all labs and radiology referral partners; electronic connectivity to the city and state for quality reporting; the launch and implementation of e-prescribing; and creation of a new virtualized call center on VOIP.

Bringing more than 30 years of healthcare experience, Mecker has been named vice president, payor and pharmacy solutions, at PatientPoint. Mecker is known for her work in patient adherence at Eli Lilly where she was responsible for driving the company’s corporate patient adherence strategy. Prior to joining PatientPoint, she served as staff vice president at WellPoint and led the implementation of WellPoint’s corporate CRM initiative.

Nichols was appointed senior vice president of physician sales. His responsibilities include developing an inside sales team as well as regional and national representatives for the company. He has more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and operations and currently serves on the board of The Florida Hospital for Children at The Walt Disney Pavilion. He previously owned MRI Franchise, part of the MRI World Network, which was acquired in 2007.

As general manager and revenue cycle management and HIPAA compliance officer, Torres brings 15 years of healthcare industry experience to his new role. Most recently, Torres held the position of financial director at a senior retirement community. Prior to that, he founded True to Form Advanced Healthcare Solutions, which offered accounts receivable/accounts payable, billing and collection services in addition to financial management, audit reviews, contract management, customer servicing and HR training. Torres has also served as the business office director for two of the largest hospitals in Central Florida.

Van Horn has been named PatientPoint’s chief financial officer, with nearly 40 years of experience in executive financial and administrative operations for small and large corporations. Before joining the company, he was partner and managing director in a CFO executive services firm where he fulfilled CFO duties for various companies, including the sale of a medical software company to a Fortune 500 company. Van Horn has a depth of financial and operational experience in commercial technology content, medical services software development and telecommunication systems.
