Nurses at four New York hospitals plan Christmas strike

Although they won't be staging the largest reported nurse strike in U.S. history, almost 10,000 unionized nurses at four New York hospitals are threatening to strike during the Christmas holiday, reports Crain's New York. Montefiore Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center will hold strike votes this week, while registered nurses at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital and New York-Presbyterian Hospital already voted to authorize the strikes. The nurses must give management 10 days notice before they can walk off the job. Article
