New ReoSTREAM(TM) Robot-Assisted Stroke Therapy Now Available Locally

PHOENIX, April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- SWAN Rehab of Phoenix is proud to announce that it is one of the first outpatient stroke rehabilitation centers in the country to offer ReoSTREAM(TM), an intensive, three-week arm function recovery program for stroke patients featuring the latest in robot-assisted technology.

"Robot-assisted therapy is one of the most exciting advances in stroke rehabilitation in recent years," said Kay Wing, SWAN Rehab's Founder and President. "Clinical results with ReoSTREAM show that it provides outstanding arm function recovery, and we're very excited to be able to make it available to stroke patients in the Phoenix area."

About SWAN Rehab

SWAN was founded by Kay Wing in September 2003 to serve the needs of stroke and brain injury survivors. It has now expanded to also serve those with other neurological conditions. Therapy at SWAN is based on the philosophy that motor function can continue to improve regardless of the age of the individual or how many years have passed since the stroke or injury. About ReoSTREAM

ReoSTREAM utilizes robot-assisted technology to provide every patient, regardless of initial functional level, with thousands of functionally oriented, customized, progressively engaged arm movements leading to measurable gains in a three-week period. This flexible technology creates a program solution for every patient. Each patient is progressed individually: low-functioning stroke patients receive intense proximal training leading to increased range of motion, normalized muscle tone, and decreased pain; mid- functioning stroke survivors will gain strength and increased active range of motion; high-functioning stroke survivors improve range of motion, smoothness and coordination of movement.
