New England-Israel Business Council Announces the 2010 Life Sciences Summit

Two-Day Event Brings Together Top Israeli CEOs and New England Life Sciences Community

NEWTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The New England-Israel Business Council (NEIBC), an organization committed to creating business and collaboration opportunities between Israeli and U.S. firms, is convening its 2010 Life Sciences Summit, a high-powered two-day program, on October 18 and 19, that will bring to the U.S. the CEOs of fifteen of the most promising Israeli life sciences companies to present to, and network with, an audience of New England leaders in the life sciences, including executives in leading biotech, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, researchers, health care providers, investment professionals, and others with an interest in the field.

“The word ‘summit’ is often used to describe a meeting between leaders of two nations or communities seeking common understanding and cooperation,” says David Barone, Chairman of the NEIBC Life Sciences Committee. “We feel that it is also the most appropriate title for this event, which is designed to foster greater collaboration between the New England and Israel life sciences communities, two of the leading regions in the world for innovation in this field, as they pursue continuing breakthroughs in diagnosing and treating diseases.”

The 2010 Summit, hosted by Brandeis International Business School, will feature over 25 experts participating in panel discussions and workshops, and one-on-one meetings between delegates and representatives of local life science companies, investors, and research collaborators. The keynote address will be delivered on October 18th by Professor Aaron Ciechanover, a 2004 Nobel Laureate from the prestigious Technion Israel Institute of Technology. A luncheon address on October 19th will be delivered by Paul Levy, CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
