Recognition Vendor's Latest Achievement Reflecting Radiology Practices' Satisfaction Level with Product's Performance, Implementation, Service and Support

LOS ANGELES, July 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MedInformatix, Inc. announced today that its MedInformatix RIS software was ranked number one in KLAS' (www.KLASresearch.com) March 2011 Ambulatory RIS/PACS: Integrating Provider Need report in the RIS—Ambulatory category. The product's recognition comes in the wake of its achieving Category Leader status in KLAS' December 2010 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services report in the Radiology (Ambulatory) market segment.

KLAS is an Orem, Utah-based research firm that specializes in the monitoring and reporting of healthcare vendor performance. MedInformatix RIS achieved its number one ranking in the firm's March report based on 478 PACS participants and 212 RIS participant responses, participants that included directors and managers, administrative directors, CEOs and COOs, IT managers and directors, PACS directors and managers, and physicians/radiologists.

Nearly half (46 percent) of practices represented employ six to 25 physicians. The remaining organizations have between one and five, 26 to 100, and more than 100 physicians or radiologists. In addition to MedInformatix RIS, the KLAS report ranks 7 additional RIS and 18 PACS vendors. Survey questions polled participants to determine, among other information, whether practices would purchase a given RIS/PACS system again, if a software solution is part of a practice's long-term plans, and whether it delivers required functionality.

For its report, KLAS also solicited and recorded respondents' overall positive and negative commentary about each contending RIS/PACS product. MedInformatix RIS consistently attained the highest or tied for the highest satisfaction levels across 17 out of 25 categories in the Side-by Side Comparison of Ambulatory RIS Vendor Performance among other factors to achieve its overall number one ranking.

"We are honored that MedInformatix RIS users provided the highest marks to our software and related support," said Thomas McGonigle, MedInformatix CEO. "KLAS data and reports reflect the candid opinions of practice leaders and administrators at provider organizations, measuring our product against demanding and exacting objectives and expectations. While we are pleased with these results, MedInformatix is not resting on its laurels. We are committed to continually soliciting and acting on user opinions, and continually improving MedInformatix RIS software and support in response.

"Our users are our partners, and as such, are key to our company's ability to maintain consistently high marks and top rankings in this and other reports, including KLAS' December 2010 Top 20 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Professional Services report," McGonigle said.
