JUNE 13th, 2013 -- Lawrence, MA -- Renowned medical documentary series, BIZARRE ER, recently filmed at Lawrence General Hospital, will air initially in the US on Discovery Fit & Health beginning on Saturday, July 6th at 10:00 pm. The award-winning program from Maverick TV is narrated by famed singer, stage and TV actor John Barrowman, and features the compelling, fascinating and downright strange cases of amazing medical survival that come through hospital doors from both sides of the pond. This marks the season premiere of the 5th Season of BIZARRE ER, and the first time the medical documentary series has filmed at a U.S. hospital. According to Executive Producer Mark Downie, the fifth season of the popular series will be accessible to over one billion potential viewers worldwide.
Filmed primarily in the U.S. at Lawrence General, the United Kingdom and with follow up stories from around the world, each 30 minute episode of BIZARRE ER follows several patients facing an unusual injury, from the moment they walk through the doors of the emergency room. Viewers will join patients through the process of diagnosis, treatment, and ultimately discharge from the hospital. The circumstances which caused these patients' peculiar injuries are often funny, and are reconstructed with Maverick's award-winning graphics and animationsi. From body piercings gone awry to an eye glued shut, BIZARRE ER brings viewers into the lighter side of the emergency room.
