MEDHOST, provider of leading healthcare throughput and emergency department software, has hired veteran healthcare executive Barbara Bryan as vice president of consulting. Bryan brings 20 years of experience in healthcare delivery, consulting, management, sales and marketing to MEDHOST, where her initial focus will be fully integrating consulting services into the sales and delivery cycle of PatientFlow HD, MEDHOST’s new enterprise-wide patient throughput solution.

“With Barbara’s guidance and expertise, we can more effectively fuse our superior technologies with the skill set and knowledge base of our technical and consulting teams to give healthcare providers patient flow and operational strategies that can generate financial, patient care and workflow improvements,” said Craig Herrod, president of MEDHOST. “The dynamic nature of healthcare today means added pressure on providers to do more with less and meet increasingly stringent regulations. By expanding our services, we can help Customers maximize their use of MEDHOST PatientFlow HD, as well as other MEDHOST solutions, and achieve their clinical and operational goals much faster in any environment.”

Additionally, Bryan will work with leadership of HealthTech, a health information technology company that manages MEDHOST, Healthcare Management Systems (HMS) and Patient Logic, to identify other opportunities to insert or expand consulting services.

Bryan comes to MEDHOST from Bryan Advisory Group, which she founded to provide performance improvement and waste management solutions to healthcare organizations and companies in other industries. Her prior experience includes serving as vice president of patient flow consulting at Eclipsys Corporation and as director with Navigant Consulting, the firm that acquired Invalesco Group, a multi-million-dollar consulting company that Bryan co-founded. Bryan’s clinical experience includes critical care nursing, sub-acute program development and healthcare industry management.

“I’m excited to lead MEDHOST’s consulting program and partner with Customers to help them not only maximize the use of PatientFlow HD, which has capabilities that are unmatched in the market, but also help them identify and address new opportunities throughout their healthcare organization,” said Barbara Bryan, vice president of consulting for MEDHOST. “While there’s a tremendous financial benefit when hospitals improve operations, patient flow and workflow, the greatest impact is on patient safety and care quality, and that’s most important.”

Bryan earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from St. Francis University.
