MedAssurant Receives NCQA Full Accreditation for Disease Management Programs

CCS Advantage®, MedAssurant's Care Coordination and Enhancement Solution, Is Recognized for Excellence in Facilitating Good Outcomes and Care

BOWIE, Md., Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MedAssurant, Inc., a leading provider of data-driven healthcare solutions, today announced that its integrated disease management program, CCS Advantage®, has again been fully accredited for an additional three years by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA's disease management (DM) certification is designed to help purchasers evaluate programs and improve patient care and service. The certification demonstrates MedAssurant's compliance with NCQA's rigorous requirements for Full Patient and Practitioner Oriented Disease Management Accreditation in its CCS Advantage® programs for people with asthma, COPD, coronary artery disease, heart failure and diabetes.

NCQA DM Certification standards are intended to help organizations achieve the highest level of performance possible, reduce patient risk, and create an environment of continuous improvement. MedAssurant has earned this accreditation from NCQA since 2008 and adds this to its 11-year history of receiving NCQA Software Certification for its quality outcomes measurement systems for Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®) measurement and reporting.

"NCQA's Disease Management Accreditation program is thorough and rigorous. It's designed to highlight only those programs that truly improve chronic care," said NCQA President Margaret E. O'Kane.

"MedAssurant's CCS Advantage solution is truly unique in the marketplace," said Troy Dinkel, M.D., MedAssurant's Chief Product Officer. "The combination of advanced analytics together with our integrated clinical call centers and embedded in-market clinical personnel has reliably resulted in improvements not just within utilization, but also within clinical and quality outcomes, membership turnover, and risk score accuracy. As MedAssurant strives to maintain the highest of industry standards in all of its solutions, we are very pleased to have NCQA again provide CCS Advantage with another three-year DM accreditation."
