McKesson Canada Taps Predictix for Promotions Forecasting

Predictix supplements McKesson Canada's existing replenishment system to improve promotions forecasting accuracy

ATLANTA, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Predictix today announced that McKesson Canada, the leading provider of healthcare products and solutions to the Canadian market, has selected Predictix to improve the accuracy of promotions forecasting. McKesson Canada is currently implementing the Predictix promotions forecasting application to improve forecasts for over 35,000 non-prescription products sold to 8,000+ community and chain pharmacies in the country.

Predictix provided McKesson Canada with a different approach compared to traditional software vendors. Instead of replacing the company's existing systems, Predictix will integrate with their legacy system to deliver a sophisticated, flexible and easy-to-use promotions forecasting application that will improve the legacy systems' forecasts. Moreover, by delivering Predictix Forecasting in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, McKesson Canada will benefit from a rapid implementation that requires no large up-front investments, computer hardware, or software to install.

Predictix Forecasting will significantly increase the company's ability to forecast its clients' many promotional events across a very diverse range of products and categories. Predictix will help to:

  • Reduce inventory and safety stock.
  • Decrease costs by eliminating re-buys.
  • Deliver added value to retailers by helping them eliminate over-buying and maximize profit potential.

"McKesson Canada chose Predictix after a thorough review of the industry's leading forecasting and replenishment solution providers. We believe Predictix will allow McKesson Canada to continue increasing the efficiency of our existing IT infrastructure and applications," said Paul de Montigny, Vice President Purchasing, Manufacturer Relations and Six Sigma, McKesson Canada.

"McKesson Canada's requirements are an ideal match for the flexibility and power of the Predictix promotions forecasting system," said Ken Palmer, executive vice president, Predictix. "Preliminary analysis has demonstrated a significant improvement in forecast accuracy that will help reduce overall safety stock and increase service levels. We are excited to be working with McKesson Canada to help them provide even greater value to their customers."
