Following suit with other retail clinics that offer similar convenience, Mayo Clinic is opening up shop at the Mall of America in Minnesota. Equipped with computers, kiosks, and wellness experts, the Mayo Clinic mall center provides shoppers with access to Mayo physicians and resources, reports the Star Tribune. Mayo Clinic said the mall facility does not intend to compete with area hospitals.
"We are not competing," John La Forgia, Mayo's chief marketing officer and a project strategist, said, according to the Tribune. "We have something unique. This is about health and wellness, not the kind of service provided by a hospital...We are not developing a major new hospital." Article
