Location tracking and black boxes

Health-IT World reports on the evolution of location tracking using active RFID tags, typically over the WiFi network, in hospitals and the combination of that technology with the integration of communication systems. It's early days for both technologies, but Emergin appears to be becoming the dominant player in integrating communication systems and is creating a "black box" that tracks and manages all communications. Meanwhile, Cisco is a big player in location tracking, but several other players like PCTS, AeroScout, PanGo and Ekahau are working to provide the tags, the location tracking software, and the applications that manage tracking with other work flow tools.
