Surgeons and facilities that receive the COEMIG designation demonstrate an unparalleled commitment and ability to consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care. The program is structured to help minimally invasive gynecologic surgery providers continuously improve care quality and patient safety.

“The COEMIG designation provides additional confidence in the care our physicians, nurses and care staff provide. It recognizes our culture to deliver the best care possible for our patients,” says , MD, chief of service, Obstetrics and Gynecology and program director for COEMIG. “Kaiser Permanente ®, our electronic medical record, gives our entire care team the ability to communicate with each other on the best possible treatment plan for every member.”

The COEMIG program recognizes that the integrated efforts and resources of both the surgeon and hospital are what provide lasting health benefits for minimally invasive gynecologic surgery patients. Benefits of minimally invasive surgery include decreased pain, less blood loss, faster recovery and, as a result, improved patient satisfaction. To earn the COEMIG designation, surgeons and hospitals must partner together and demonstrate a cross-organizational commitment to minimally invasive gynecologic surgical care.
