25-year healthcare executive and IT strategist also acting as top advisor
SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Alan W. Portela, a leading voice on the future of information technology and meaningful use in healthcare, has been named to the Board of Directors of AirStrip Technologies, Inc., company officials announced today.
Portela assumed the new role effective Jan. 1, 2011, and will also serve as a senior strategic advisor to AirStrip.

Portela is also noted for helping to pioneer the ‘Best of Suite’ approach to the adoption of EHRs, a method that combines clinical systems deployment around their ability to automate functional gaps. Portela frequently speaks and writes about technology in healthcare for national organizations and industry journals.
