Idaho Doctors’ Hospital, eastern Idaho’s premier spine surgical hospital, today announced it has been named a 2012 Summit Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., for the second year in a row. Press Ganey works with more than 10,000 health care organizations nationwide and recognizes organizations based on achievement in seven categories. The Summit Award for patient satisfaction honors organizations that have demonstrated excellence in patient satisfaction for a minimum of three consecutive years and is among the most coveted awards in the health care industry.
The award was presented today during a ceremony held at Idaho Doctors’ Hospital and was attended by Mayor Mike Virtue of Blackfoot, Jeremy Field, a representative from Senator James Risch’s office, Farhana Hibbert from Senator Crapo’s office and other local dignitaries.
“On behalf of Idaho Doctors’ hospital board of directors, physicians, nurses and staff, we accept this award,” said Dr. Clark Allen, M.D., chief of staff at Idaho Doctors’ Hospital. “An award given based on our patients’ perception of our work is especially welcome recognition. It says that we’ve been able to practice in such a way that our patients feel our compassion and our care and know that we are totally focused on their comfort and their wellness.”
The Summit Award is presented to facilities scoring in the 95 percentile or above at the overall level for three consecutive years. Being the second year to receive the Summit Award, this means that over a 48 month period, all patients scored Idaho Doctors’ Hospital in the top five percent of facilities nationwide.
