ICA Appoints Rodney M. Hamilton, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer

(), a leading provider of interoperability technology that enables care management and health information exchange (HIE), announced today it has appointed Rodney M. Hamilton, MD, chief medical information officer (CMIO), effective June 25, 2012.
Dr. Hamilton will provide clinical leadership and support throughout the ICA organization, including product development, client services, sales and business development and marketing. “I look forward to combining my experience across the healthcare IT and delivery landscape with ICA’s technical talent for creating solutions that solve real business problems in healthcare,” said Dr. Hamilton.
Prior to joining ICA, Dr. Hamilton was the CMIO and managing director of the Product Strategy practice at PointClear Solutions, Inc., a technology consulting firm that develops healthcare solutions for startups, HIT vendors, provider organizations and payers. Dr. Hamilton has also held leadership positions in information technology at Vanguard Health Systems, McKesson Provider Technologies and Brentwood Pediatrics.
Dr. Hamilton received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Tennessee – Memphis College of Medicine and completed his residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During his residency program, he also worked extensively with Vanderbilt’s department of biomedical informatics on a number of clinical systems projects.
