IASIS Healthcare Selects MedTouch to Create Mobile Websites for its Hospitals

Cambridge, MA (PRWEB) June 06, 2011

MedTouch is pleased to announce IASIS Healthcare's selection of MedTouch to create and launch a new mobile presence for eight of its 19 hospitals. Together, MedTouch and IASIS launched mobile websites for all eight IASIS facilities. Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.; Jordan Valley Medical Center in West Jordan, Utah; Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City, Utah; Tempe St. Luke's Hospital in Tempe, Ariz.; North Vista Hospital in North Las Vegas, Nev.; Davis Hospital and Medical Center in Layton, Utah; St. Luke's Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz.; and Salt Lake Regional Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah all went live in March.

The mobile websites for the IASIS hospitals are pared down versions of the main website with a focus on transactional points of access, which gives visitors the ability to search for a physician, find directions and contact information, and/or to browse open positions. In addition, the mobile sites include integrated real-time reporting for emergency room wait times. This complimentary service aims to help IASIS patients gauge their approximate wait to receive care and length of stay when accessing emergency services.

"We believe these new mobile websites built by MedTouch fit nicely with our commitment to use advanced technology to improve the overall quality of care we provide to the communities we serve," said Tedd Adair, IASIS Healthcare Vice President of Clinical Operations. "By putting more tools directly in our patients' hands, we have yet another opportunity to better educate them about our hospital services like ER wait times, provide them with contact information via our medical staff directory and offer search capabilities for navigating the hospital campuses." Adair added, "Offering information customized for smartphones is just one more way we are hoping to interact with our patients and their families in a way that is convenient for them."

MedTouch has found through new studies and internal research that consumers are already beginning to expect more online access to manage their care 24/7, and increasingly, conducting their searches for health information and care not only online, but also from smartphones. "Mobile is a natural direction for us to grow and further support our clients," said Sandra Fancher, Vice President of Client Services and Strategy at MedTouch. "IASIS has made a wise strategic decision to build mobile accessible websites for their hospitals. We predict that 2011 will bring mobile to the forefront of health care marketing and continue to present new and exciting opportunities to reach patients."
