Hospitals create more than 10K jobs in April

Hospitals added 10,100 new jobs in April, a slight drop from the 10,200 new jobs created in March, notes HealthLeaders Media. However, hospital job growth is still off to a great start in 2011, with 31,500 new jobs for the first quarter, compared with just 8,900 new jobs for the previous year's first quarter, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics preliminary data. As of April, more than 4.7 million healthcare sector jobs are at hospitals, more than 6.1 million jobs are in ambulatory services, and more than 2.3 million jobs are in physicians' offices. Article
