The HP/Omnicare Local Access Service provides same day and urgent access to medications. HP’s staff members support hospice nurses by contacting the local Omnicare Pharmacy directly on behalf of the hospice. Omnicare Pharmacy of Houston offers a consistent and streamlined approach to providing urgently needed medications.
By enlisting HP’s assistance in procuring same-day medications hospices are able to spend less time on the phone and more time on patient care. After taking all relevant prescription and contact information for the patient from the hospice nurse, an HP representative communicates the patient’s needs directly to the Omnicare Pharmacy. Omnicare sources the controlled substance prescriptions when needed and is able to prioritize the needs of hospice patients. Omnicare also arranges delivery to the patient’s site of care with a courier service when needed.
