Holy Redeemer Partners with MobileMD to Deliver Health Information Exchange Services to Care Community

WARMINSTER and HUNTINGDON VALLEY, Pa., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- MobileMD, Warminster, and Holy Redeemer Health System, Huntingdon Valley, announced today an agreement to provide state-of-the-art Health Information Exchange (HIE) services to Holy Redeemer and its entire healthcare provider community.  The agreement utilizes MobileMD technology to improve patient care by allowing community-based physicians to access and share more health information about their patients rapidly, and provides even greater data exchange between various points of care within the Holy Redeemer Health System. Ultimately, Holy Redeemer is offering a tool for physicians to provide better patient care.

The agreement provides for MobileMD to deploy its 4D HIE™, which is comprised of MobileMD's flagship products, 4DX Intelligence Engine (4DX IE) and 4DX Enterprise Access (4DX EA), both designed to improve critical care information flow and facilitate meaningful use across the Holy Redeemer provider network.

Specifically, Holy Redeemer Health System will use MobileMD's turnkey technologies and services to establish connectivity between its hospital, home health care, long-term care facilities, and its physicians and affiliated physicians.  Holy Redeemer has embraced technology to enhance patient care for many years, pro-actively adopting electronic health records (EHR) in 2004, and introducing state-of-the-art Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) health information technology within the health system in 2009. With MobileMD, Holy Redeemer extends its resources to community physicians affiliated with the Health System.

"We believe an integral aspect of quality patient care involves the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate and share critical information between clinicians and facilities," said Mike Laign, CEO, Holy Redeemer Health System.  "MobileMD's HIE will significantly enhance communications between our clinicians and our care facilities by delivering real-time patient health information precisely where and when it is needed.  Such information is critical to ensure quality care is delivered to the members of our community."

"MobileMD provides Holy Redeemer with a strong foundation on which our care team can access, receive and exchange current clinical information on the patients we serve," said Anne Searle, Chief Information Officer, Holy Redeemer.  "No longer will we have to rely on manual or cumbersome means to furnish clinicians with information they need when they need it – no more faxing, mailing or phone calls to get relevant patient information.  This is improves safety within our health system and enables us to expand this exchange to include the local, regional or state Health Information Exchange initiatives as opportunities present themselves in the future."

MobileMD 4D HIE™ provides secure clinical and administrative data exchange between all providers caring for patients within a community, regardless of their location, electronic medical records (EMR) technology or vendor.  MobileMD handles the set-up, configuration, maintenance and support of the HIE and EA technologies, and services necessary to provide patient care.

For physician practices currently using an electronic medical record (EMR) product, patient health information (PHI) will be integrated into the disparate EMRs used across the physician community. And, for physician practices that have not yet implemented (EMR) technology, MobileMD's 4DX EA will provide an easy to use, web-enabled, highly secure, Meaningful Use-certified "EMR-light" designed to facilitate the communication of and access to critical PHI, regardless of location or system of PHI origination.

"Holy Redeemer has chosen to electronically, efficiently and securely communicate appropriate and critical patient health information with its physician community and clinical business partners," commented MobileMD CEO Todd Fisher.   "Holy Redeemer's goal is to continue its practice of enhancing care while improving provider – patient relationships through innovative information technology deployment. Our service provides a very efficient and direct path for Holy Redeemer to follow and will certainly facilitate its desired objectives.  We are very pleased and honored Holy Redeemer has chosen us as a partner in its mission," he said.
