Secretary Sebelius to hear from New Hampshirites who have saved money because of the health reform law
WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS):
WHAT: |
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will discuss how the Affordable Care Act, signed into law two years ago, has put money back into the pockets of millions of Americans. Secretary Sebelius will highlight cost-saving provisions in the Affordable Care Act, such as the ability for states to crack down on unjustified premium hikes, the new 80/20 rule, which says that 80 cents of every dollar must be spent on health care rather than CEO salaries, and the small business tax credit, which has lowered health insurance costs for small business owners, who on average have paid about 18 percent more than large firms for the same health insurance policy. Secretary Sebelius will hear from New Hampshirites who have seen their out-of-pocket costs drop because of the cost-saving measures in the law, including no-cost preventive services, the Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan, Medicare drug discounts and young adults under 26 who have gained coverage on their parents’ plan. | |
