Healthland to Host Record Number of Rural Hospitals at Annual User Conference

Healthcare IT Provider offers Meaningful Use educational sessions and previews the Healthland Meaningful Use EHR Solution in Chicago, October 24-27

GLENWOOD, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Healthland, America's market leader of healthcare information technology solutions for rural hospitals, will host Connect 10, a premier event for Healthland clients, in Chicago, Ill., October 24-27. At Connect 10, healthcare professionals will have the opportunity to learn more about the transformation of rural healthcare with educational sessions on Meaningful Use and Electronic Health Record (EHR) technology; attend presentations from industry leaders; network with peers and preview the Healthland Meaningful Use EHR Solution. A record number of attendees from the rural hospital community are expected at the upcoming event.

“This year, we are dedicating our annual user conference to celebrating commitment – the commitment rural hospitals have to the communities they serve, as well as Healthland’s commitment to the rural hospital market,” said Tracey Schroeder, Healthland Vice President of Marketing and Sales Support. “We have put together an event that goes beyond vendor demonstrations and sessions and really focuses on key industry issues and concerns. Connect 10 will provide tools to help rural hospitals meet Meaningful Use, drive EHR adoption, increase performance and improve patient care.”

Meaningful Use is the topic of a complete educational track during the event. This track will help clients understand how they can achieve Meaningful Use and obtain ARRA EHR incentive payments. Industry experts will also explain the difference between the Core Set and Menu Set objectives in the Final Rule on Meaningful Use and offer information about the 15 Clinical Quality measures.

During the event, Healthland clients will attend sessions that provide a thorough overview of the upcoming release of the Healthland EHR Solution. “Our primary goal is to ensure that our clients feel the utmost confidence in their ability to meet Meaningful Use requirements with Healthland solutions,” added Schroeder. “We are on track to apply for Meaningful Use certification with CCHIT in Q4 of this year, enabling clients to submit attestation of Meaningful Use for ARRA EHR incentive payments.”

Connect 10 will also feature a number of healthcare and business experts and speakers including Scott Goodspeed and Mike Schumacher. A nationally recognized speaker and principal at the Performance Management Institute, Goodspeed has served as president and CEO of four hospitals and has been a member of over 20 boards of directors. His presentation will provide information about how to sustain top talent and increase strategic and operational performance in rural hospitals. Schumacher, a CPA with Eide Bailly, will help attendees understand ARRA’s Meaningful Use incentives, including information about the differences between PPS and critical access hospitals, clinics and physician practices. Connect 10 will also include presentations by many more experienced corporate trainers and business management experts.
