Glassdoor released its list of best places to work in 2018, and a number of healthcare organizations made the cut.
The list, which was based on employee ratings on the job search site over the past year, included seven hospitals and health systems alongside a number of pharmaceutical companies and other industry groups. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital appeared on the list for the first time, cracking the top 10 at number nine as the highest-ranking hospital.
"Better than I hoped for, more than I dreamed possible," one employee wrote about working at St. Jude.
The others on the list are:
- NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (32)
- Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (45)
- Texas Health Resources (46)
- Aurora Health Care (82)
- Massachusetts General Hospital (90)
- Kaiser Permanente (91)
NewYork-Presbyterian and Texas Health Resources were also newcomers to the list this year.

In a post on its LinkedIn page, Mass General thanked its staffers for taking "the time to share why they love working here," and NewYork-Presbyterian echoed that sentiment in a tweet.

Facebook ranked as the top place to work overall for the third time. To qualify for the large-firms list, employers must have at least 75 Glassdoor reviews across the site's eight "workplace attributes," and must have at least 1,000 employees.

Robert Hohman, CEO and co-founder of Glassdoor, said in an announcement that as potential employees do more research online before applying for jobs, it's key for employers to have the pulse of what their staffers feel.
“Employers where employees love to work continue to prove that they have a recruiting and business performance advantage," Hohman said.
Mass General was also named by Indeed, another job site, as the best hospital to work for this year. It also placed in the top 5 of U.S. News' annual list of the best hospitals in the country.
