General Dynamics Awarded $95 Million by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

FAIRFAX, Va., May 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a task order to continue providing claims processing support to the Department of Health and Human Services' Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The contract has a total potential value of $95 million over five years if all options are exercised.

General Dynamics will perform computer software services to support the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) system including maintenance, developmental enhancements and special projects. CMS uses General Dynamics Information Technology's ViPS Medicare System software to process approximately 240,000 claims received daily.
