GE Launches Centricity Practice Solution 10

BARRINGTON, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- GE Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare information technology, announces the launch of its fully integrated EMR and practice management (PM) system for physician practices, Centricity* Practice Solution 10. Now with embedded reports that providers can use to track their progress toward achieving federal benchmarks for Meaningful Use incentive payments, this new version has already attained 2011/2012 Meaningful Use Stage I certification as a complete EHR from CCHIT®**.

“It’s changing the game here,” said Kathy Barrows, Clinic Administrator, Internal Medicine Associates (Fargo, N.D.). “Centricity Practice Solution 10 has clearly been built to optimize cost efficiency and deployment of a hybrid system and has intuitively matched our workflow to minimize our training costs. We couldn’t be happier with our transition.” After Barrows made the decision to upgrade to the beta version of Centricity Practice Solution 10, she quickly began realizing the benefits of its design and its improvements. Integrated. Intuitive. Informed. Centricity Practice Solution stands ready to move each clinical operation toward its own “best practice.”

Integrated.

Centricity Practice Solution 10 true EMR/PM integration helps ensure that one set of patient information flows throughout the practice, reducing medical errors and driving down operating costs. Integration means that quality reports are directly embedded in the patient record to help medical practices manage their efforts to qualify for Meaningful Use incentives and other value-based payment initiatives. Integration also means that each action taken on the clinical side of the solution is immediately reflected on the financial side, removing a step from workflow and simplifying care process recording.

Intuitive.

Automating the most important real-world workflows into its unique user interface, Centricity Practice Solution 10 helps maximize practice productivity. On the PM side, the new interface introduces simplified scheduling, claims filing and billing while enabling staff to monitor progress in real time. On the clinical side, the solution has been built by physicians, for physicians, adopting existing clinical workflows rather than requiring new ones, maximizing clinicians’ effectiveness and helping them deliver the best care possible.

“Based on early copies of Centricity Practice Solution 10, it is clear GE has listened and responded to requests from its users in a big way,” said Maurice Rosenbaum, CEO of HealthSystems, a leading Healthcare IT reseller. “This new version is one of the most significant and broad sweeping user interface improvements in years and we are thrilled to bring this innovation to our existing groups and new groups alike.”

Informed.

The 20 Million de-identified and HIPAA-compliant patient records of GE’s industry-leading Medical Quality Improvement Consortium (MQIC) are embedded into this new CPS solution, representing a powerful tool for benchmarking and making data-driven decisions.

MQIC, launched in 2005, is used by physicians across the nation and is relied upon by leading academic institutions and medical practices. Further, the new practice management component ensures readiness for the coming conversation to ICD-10 and 5010 standards and the ability to successfully practice outcomes-based medicine.

“This product represents the best of the best in clinical practice and practice management solutions,” said Mike Friguletto, Vice President and General Manager of GE Healthcare IT. “The advantages being delivered to the staff at Internal Medicine Associates will soon be replicated at clinics around the country. Better still, this product, developed by clinicians, continues to evolve based on the input we receive. It’s an incredibly exciting solution.”
