FL doctor charged with damaging medical centers

An unemployed anesthesiologist with a troubled history has been arrested on charges that he threatened former co-workers at a Florida hospital and broke windows at medical centers in two counties.

The anesthesiologist, Dr. Benjamin Sanchez, was fired from Anesthesia Associates of Pinellas County (FL) in September 2005 after a colleague wrote an email saying he was at risk to become violent. Sanchez sued the colleague.

In the recent incident, Sanchez showed up at the anesthesia building at Clearwater, FL-based Morton Plant Hospital and threatened employees, despite an injunction forbidding him to visit the facility. Two days later he returned and broke windows at the hospital.
