Epocrates Names Dave Burlington Chief Operations Officer

SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Epocrates, Inc., the leading developer of drug and clinical reference solutions, today announced the appointment of Dave Burlington as the company's new chief operations officer (COO). Burlington has nearly 25 years of experience in product development and management, strategy, service, delivery and launch of on-demand/SaaS architectures from a number of successful software companies.

Burlington most recently served as group vice president of applications and technology at Taleo Corporation, the leading provider of on-demand talent management solutions. During his five-year tenure, Burlington was responsible for all enterprise product strategy and development, and managed the company's architecture, technology and infrastructure. Burlington led efforts for three major acquisitions, and helped grow Taleo from $70 million to $240 million in revenues.

Previously, Burlington served as senior vice president of product development for Comergent Technologies, Inc., which was acquired by Sterling Commerce in 2006. He helped create and execute company-wide strategy, operating business plans and annual sales plan projections. Burlington has also held senior leadership positions at PeopleSoft, Inc., Gap, Inc. and Andersen Consulting.
