EMI Health Selects Arizona Foundation for Medical Care as Provider Network in Arizona

EMI Health chooses largest statewide independent healthcare network to serve customers in Arizona

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- EMI Health, a Utah-based health insurance organization, has chosen Arizona Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) as its provider network in Arizona for its self-funded medical plans. EMI Health, which recently expanded into Arizona, selected AFMC in part because of its proven record and reputation as the state’s largest, statewide independent healthcare network. The AFMC network includes more than 13,000 professionals in 30,000-plus facilities across the state, as well as access to more than 70 hospitals.

“EMI Health is happy to serve the Arizona market, expanding our services into another state in the West,” said Steve Morrison, CEO of EMI Health. “By working with the Arizona Foundation for Medical Care, we are able to offer a robust network of providers to our members throughout the state.”

In addition to the vast provider network, EMI Health members in Arizona will benefit from the foundation’s cost-effective fee schedules, rigorous credentialing process for providers and commitment to customer service. EMI Health services both self-funded and fully-funded medical plans.

About the Arizona Foundation for Medical Care

Arizona Foundation for Medical Care (AFMC) was founded in 1969 as a not-for-profit organization by a group of 800 physicians from the Maricopa County Medical Society. These physicians believed that there was a better way to create and manage a healthcare network in Arizona. Today, AFMC has grown into Arizona’s largest statewide independent healthcare network by providing highly-accessible, quality care, while focusing on containing healthcare costs for employer groups through comprehensive medical management and wellness programs.
