CRN Magazine Recognizes the Top 100 Healthcare VARs for 2010

First Annual list highlights the key players in the healthcare space for this year

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Everything Channel, a division of United Business Media, today announced CRN's first annual Top 100 Healthcare VARs for 2010.

This first annual list recognizes the VARs, systems integrators, consultancies, platform specialists and developers that are well poised to benefit from the growing healthcare IT market and offer compelling solutions through the channel.  While final selections were made by the CRN editorial team, VARs were initially identified through industry research, interviews with vendors and analysts in the healthcare industry and insights based on health related CRN editorial.

As research indicates, the healthcare market is growing by billions every year.   In fact, according to IDC Health Insights growth in implementation of electronic medical records (EMR) and health information exchange technologies will help spur worldwide growth of Healthcare IT spending over the next three years to over $13 billion.  As a result, support levels for EMRs and infrastructure technologies have heavily increased, presenting an ideal opportunity for VARs in this market. A recent Everything Channel and CompTIA survey reports that six out of 10 solution providers/integrators said the health-care industry provides 10 percent to 15 percent of their company's total revenue.

"Increased regulations and the move to electronic health records have fueled an increased interest in the healthcare market. These leading 100 VARs capitalized on the opportunity early and today, provide healthcare providers with integrated and customized IT solutions to meet their demanding needs," said Kelley Damore, Vice President, Editorial Director, Everything Channel.

The Top 100 Healthcare VARs list will appear in the October issue of CRN and online at www.crn.com.
