CPSI’s System Receives ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certification

MOBILE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Computer Programs and Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPSI), a leading provider of healthcare information technology to community and specialty hospitals, announced today that the CPSI System, Version 17, is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a Complete EHR on November 15, 2010, by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ATCB, in accordance with the applicable hospital certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 2011/2012 criteria support the Stage 1 meaningful use measures required to qualify eligible providers and hospitals for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

“CPSI is excited about receiving ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification and, most importantly, what that certification means for our client hospitals,” said Boyd Douglas, CPSI President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our customers now have the official recognition that their CPSI system provides them with the functionality and technology needed to meet the meaningful use requirements and qualify for ARRA reimbursements.” Mr. Douglas went on to say, “This certification is the culmination of a substantial, concerted effort on the part of our product development and application support staffs as well as our beta site client hospitals. It is a tribute to their dedication and perseverance that we have been able to achieve certification on schedule as promised to our customers upon the passage of the ARRA over a year ago. We believe the certification of our system is yet another example of CPSI’s continued commitment to maintaining our position as the leading provider of healthcare information technology to rural and community hospitals.”

The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and EHR Modules meet one or more – but not all – of the criteria approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible provider or hospital technology.

“CCHIT is pleased to be testing and certifying products so that companies are now able to offer these products to providers who wish to purchase and implement certified EHR technology and achieve meaningful use in time for the 2011-2012 incentives,” said Karen M. Bell, M.D., M.S.S., Chair, CCHIT.

The CPSI System, Version 17’s certification number is CC-1112-811229-1. ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification conferred by CCHIT does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services nor does it guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
