Continental Anesthesia Signs New Contract to Provide Exclusive Anesthesia Services at Five Hospitals within Presence Health System

Continental Anesthesia announced it has signed a new contract to be the exclusive provider of anesthesia services at five hospitals within the Presence Health System. This agreement continues Continental’s best-practice services at Presence Resurrection Medical Center, Presence Saint Francis Hospital, and Presence Holy Family Medical Center, and adds new service at Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center and Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. This agreement builds on a 40-year relationship between the organizations and has been expanded in the spirit of partnership to deliver quality anesthesia care to the patients and medical providers in the Presence Health system.

Presence Health is the largest Catholic health system based in Illinois. It was created in November 2011 through the merger of Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care, and comprises over 150 locations including 12 hospitals, 27 long-term care and senior living facilities and dozens of affiliated physician offices and health centers. Continental has a long history of providing service at Presence Health facilities dating back to 1973 at Saint Francis Hospital.

Incorporating this recent growth, Continental intends to grow to approximately 150 clinical associates who are either Board Certified or Board Eligible MDs or CRNAs over the next few months. Continental Anesthesia provides all sub-specialty anesthesia services including pain management and provides real-time operating room and quality metrics through its proprietary DashboardOR™ application.
