FRANKLIN, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) announced today that a subsidiary has acquired substantially all of the assets of Tomball Regional Medical Center in Tomball, Texas, located approximately 30 miles northwest of Houston. The 358-bed hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services on a large campus that also includes a cancer center, heart center, women’s health center, outpatient surgery center and a sports medicine complex. The hospital has earned numerous clinical quality distinctions and is included this year on the U.S. News and World Report list of Best Hospitals in the Houston market. The transaction was effective October 1, 2011.
