CliniComp Intl. Promotes Alan Portela to President

SAN DIEGO - (Business Wire) CliniComp Intl., a global provider of clinical documentation systems, announced today the appointment of Alan Portela as President.

Portela, who has served as Chief Operating Officer since rejoining the company in July 2008 and who has more than 20 years industry experience, will focus on setting the strategic direction as well as promoting and accelerating the adoption of CliniComp's Essentris® enterprise clinical documentation solution to support high demand.

"This appointment comes at a pivotal time in the company's history - on the heels of significant contract wins as well as in support of President Obama's economic stimulus plan - as CliniComp, the clinical documentation leader, is well positioned for rapid growth and expansion," explains Chris Haudenschild, Chairman of the Board and CEO of CliniComp. "This is a well-deserved promotion for Portela. He has performed an outstanding job, playing an instrumental role in enabling CliniComp to grow significantly over the past 15 months, including our selection as the U.S. Department of Defense's inpatient clinical documentation vendor. He is ideally suited to spearhead our efforts to enhance the Essentris brand, increase sales and provide extraordinary service to more than 100 clients worldwide."

"I am very proud to be named President of CliniComp," Portela said. "The success we are enjoying today is due to our 25-year culture and resolute commitment to developing industry-leading mission critical solutions, hiring and supporting talented and dedicated employees, and providing the highest quality service. Above all, we owe our success to the faith our customers place in our solutions and our team to support them on a 24/7 basis. I am looking forward to working closely with management and the entire CliniComp team to lead our customer-facing activities to build upon that legacy, continue our market momentum and ensure CliniComp remains the industry's clinical documentation leader."
