CapitalCare Medical Group Chooses OptimizeHIT Software for Physician and Clinician Electronic Health Records (EHR) Trainin

ImplementHIT flagship product to help enable rapid adoption and meaningful use to nearly 300 doctors and clinicians

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- ImplementHIT announced today an agreement to provide OptimizeHIT, their patent-pending physician and clinician electronic health records (EHR) software training platform, to CapitalCare Medical Group. All 110 providers and hundreds of clinical and support staff at CapitalCare’s 27 sites will use this online learning software platform to enable EHR clinical adoption and meaningful use. ImplementHIT is the developer of sophisticated, customized education products and services that are driving organization-wide EHR adoption.

OptimizeHIT is used by hospitals and practices representing thousands of physicians and clinical staff. Unlike any other computer-based training (CBT), OptimizeHIT is skill-based, which is far more relevant than the traditional modular-based approach. Training skills are tightly customized based on each organization’s workflow, EHR build and specialties of care. Because of a rapid return to full productivity, customers using OptimizeHIT achieve an average ROI of four to one. The product is web-based, so physicians train at a time and place most convenient to them, which maximizes clinic productivity and boosts adoption.

CapitalCare is upgrading their AllscriptsTM EHR and bringing all sites live at the same time. OptimizeHIT was selected to connect management with providers and support personnel with varying degrees of EHR expertise, and make this ambitious enterprise-wide roll-out possible.

A physician-owned organization, many doctors at CapitalCare evaluated OptimizeHIT. “We concluded that OptimizeHIT’s technology and learning management system (LMS) is superior to other vendors. Most products are canned, and it’s not interesting or exciting for providers. This product, however, segments learning into meaningful batches so users can absorb the information quickly and move on to the next skill,” said Charles Hagstrand, CapitalCare CIO.

“Ease of use and accessibility of ongoing education to doctors in private practice is critical for us, as is the need to educate them in a timely and convenient way without disrupting office hours,” said Hagstrand. “Features for developing and monitoring skills, and visibility into how quickly doctors are learning, are also critical to our short and long term success. We especially like that this tool will help us enhance training as we go,” he said.

“We are pleased to provide CapitalCare with the most advanced, customized and powerful health IT training solution on the market. We’re particularly excited to be bringing standardization and adoption of even the most advanced electronic medical records (EMR) functionality to all of CapitalCare’s locations and their diverse user base,” said Dan Gebremedhin, M.D., President of ImplementHIT.

OptumInsight, formerly Ingenix, will leverage OptimizeHIT to provide all on-site EHR training support services for CapitalCare. The software platform is available to select EHR consulting firms so they can train an increasing number of users at remote clinical sites in a more powerful, rapid and effective way than ever before. New partners are continuing to leverage the OptimizeHIT platform to deliver the best possible training experience to users of EHRs such as eClinicalWorks® and Epic, as well as Dragon Medical voice recognition software.

“OptimizeHIT is the new standard for healthcare training, including EMR training. We’re changing the face of health IT elearning with a whole-care team approach that includes all clinical and non-clinical staff, which is important to CapitalCare,” said Andres Jimenez, M.D., CEO, ImplementHIT. “We’re delivering best-in-class online training, while maintaining physician and clinician productivity. At many organizations this equates to approximately 25 percent of total EMR implementation costs, or hundreds of thousands of dollars,” said Dr. Jimenez.

With unmatched experience successfully rolling out Allscripts Enterprise EHR v11 Note across many different specialties and practice settings, ImplementHIT will also provide optimization services for this module of the EHR.

OptimizeHIT is compatible with all certified EHRs, including Epic, Allscripts, eClinical Works and others.
