Bill Quirk Named Hay Group’s National Director, US Healthcare

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hay Group is pleased to announce that Bill Quirk has been named the national director of Hay Group’s US healthcare practice. Mr. Quirk came to Hay Group in January 2010 as the director of business development for the healthcare practice. Michael Jensen, vice president, will replace Mr. Quirk as the West Coast market leader for Hay Group.

“I am extremely excited to lead Hay Group’s dynamic healthcare consulting practice,” says Mr. Quirk. “The industry has never been more exciting than it is right now. I am eager to see us build and expand relationships with providers and payers in all areas of the country so we may help them realize the success they have outlined in their strategies. This is a great team that will continue to serve as a valuable partner to healthcare organizations.”

Hay Group’s healthcare practice has been a defined sector for over three decades, serving hospitals, health systems, managed care companies and physician groups with challenges surrounding pay, performance, talent and alignment. The practice’s clients include half of the US News & World Report’s 2011 Honor Roll Hospitals, as well as seven of the top ten largest Catholic health systems. In 2010, Hay Group consultants advised over 400 healthcare organizations in the US.

Prior to joining Hay Group, Mr. Quirk was the former president and CEO of Sullivan, Cotter and Associates. He has also served as national director of healthcare consulting at Towers-Perrin where he spent 21 years. All included, he has more than 30 years of experience advising healthcare providers on compensation and leadership development strategies. He has worked with boards and management alike at some of the country’s largest, most prestigious and complex health systems and hospitals. He is a former United States Air Force officer and a graduate of the Harvard School of Business, St. Mary’s University and the University of Colorado.

Mr. Quirk will be succeeding CJ Bolster, who led the healthcare practice for 12 years.

“There isn’t an executive in the industry that I’d feel more confident in leading Hay Group’s healthcare practice than Bill Quirk,” says CJ Bolster, newly appointed as the national director - US industries. “I anticipate great things as he guides and grows our healthcare practice. I know our clients will appreciate his leadership as well.”
