Best Doctors President Evan Falchuk Launches First Blog Carnival for the Benefits Community

The Benefits Package showcases online thought leaders who address the biggest issues in employee health benefits today

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Best Doctors, Inc., a provider of global health benefits that help people get the right medical care, today announced that President and Chief Strategy Officer Evan Falchuk, creator and blogger for See First Blog, has launched the industry’s first blog carnival for the employee benefits community. The Benefits Package brings together the most innovative voices in the blogosphere to address issues impacting employer health benefits as the industry faces drastic changes largely due to healthcare reform.

The Benefits Package serves as an open forum to build relationships and share best practices so that benefits professionals can discover new blogs and stay abreast of industry news. Each edition of the carnival is hosted at a different health benefits blog on a bi-weekly basis. This week’s edition can be found at InsureBlog.

“Social media played a large role in healthcare reform and the benefits community is just beginning to enter the fray with industry-specific blogs that address important issues,” said Mr. Falchuk. “In just our first two editions, contributors to The Benefits Package have already begun to form a strong, collective voice that speaks to major issues like healthcare policy and reform.”

Falchuk launched the first edition on Dec. 6, 2010 with much momentum, recording nearly 1,000 page views the carnival’s first day. Some of the most influential bloggers in the industry have been featured in The Benefits Package, including Henry Stern, LUTCF, CBC of InsureBlog—where this week’s edition of The Benefits Package is hosted—and Jennifer Benz of Benz Communications Blog, who will host the next edition of the carnival on Jan. 24, 2011.

“The community of benefits bloggers grows every day, and The Benefits Package is a great platform for bringing even more of us together to share our thoughts and opinions on the state of healthcare and employee benefits,” said Mr. Stern. “I am thrilled to be one of the founding contributors and to take the baton as today’s host to continue to drive the carnival’s momentum.”

“Healthcare reform has made employee benefits one of the most important issues facing Americans today,” said Ms. Benz. “Now more than ever, it is important to have a forum like The Benefits Package to bring the voices of our community into the spotlight.”

The Benefits Package welcomes bloggers to join the community by submitting their blog posts to upcoming editions or by offering to host a future edition of the carnival.
