Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts has signed what's being praised as an innovative contract with Mount Auburn Hospital and its affiliated physicians, along with Hampden County Physician Associates of Springfield, which pays providers a flat fee based on the numbers of patients they treat.
